Pretty important notice: It’s proving very annoying to sub a mystery show for which we don’t know the resolution yet (especially one featuring Ryukishi’s vocabulary avalanche), so we’ve noticed several instances by now where a past line doesn’t truly reflect what the speaker wanted to express. The only way to adequately resolve this is, of course, to v2 it, but to keep the v-something spam to a minimum, this will be done together with the batch torrent. From what I can see right now, the batch will include reworked scripts for 5, 6 and 7. This is naturally subject to change as the show isn’t yet over. Just make sure that you archive the batch torrent and not the assorted episodes coming out until that point.

We are working on Sora 07 and 08. Lots of regrettable things are holding us up, and the only reason Ookami is out before Sora is because Ookami has a different encoder (me!). I’m sure that public interest in the internal mechanisms and inefficiencies and dramas of fansubbing is rather limited, so I’ll simply leave it at the reassurance that nothing is dropped and everything is being worked on. As much as I’d like to give more helpful information, I can’t. However, we’ve had things like this happen on Phantom as well, and we also got back on track every time.

Vocabulary (slightly spoiler-ish, might want to skip it)

“kami-bito”, translated as Godman/Godmen is exactly that. A godlike person.

“kami-otoshi” and “ochi-bito”, translated as the “Fallen”. The first is the event, the second the person.

“mitsu”, not translated (”Honey”). The only way to translate it would be a synonym for “temptation”, yet not temptation itself. We briefly considered using “incubus” (a male succubus), but abandoned the idea as it wouldn’t really clarify anything.

Ryukishi is starting to show his true colors. Yessss. Also, most pointlessly unrelated screencap ever.

Couldn’t decide, so generic. Anyway: the filesize. Sora and Ookami are encoded at constant quality, so if the episode has more detail or movement than others, it will automatically get bigger instead of sacrificing something. I can only suppose this to be the case here. Ookami is CRF 16 in case you’re familiar with the concept. I’ll make sure the encodes don’t exceed 500 MB or stay consistently around it – I guess CRF 17 looks still good enough.
