Sora no Woto Batch status update

sorawoto_update

Hi everyone, I’d like to update you on the status of the Sora no Woto batch, as well as a few other things.

As you all know, Sora no Woto’s been completed, but there is no batch torrent yet. This is because I’m currently reviewing ALL the episode scripts and updating them, me being the anal editor that I am. You can expect most if not all episodes to have a v2 version, some changed more than others. Once this tedious process is finished I’ll compile and release an official batch for Sora no Woto.

Also, I’d also like to announce that  fnord, who did kara, editing, and translation (and more), has retired from Nekomimi Fansubs for personal reasons. There wasn’t any drama within the group or anything, he is just at a point where he will be unable to perform his fansub duties in the foreseeable future. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying I wish he could stay, but as much as we may joke about it, real life always takes precedence over anime. Everyone in Nekomimi wishes him the best of luck, and hopefully there will be a time when he can rejoin us and make fansubs with us once again.

- PrEyX

PS – Enjoy this epic rendition of Amazing Grace while you wait for the Sora no Woto batch.

The meaning of this screencap will become clear once you reach it. This final episode is a real nail-biter, but they can never let a series like this end badly, can they? Even so, I’m still a little sad because we’re at the finish. Sorry for the late release (even at the very end), I was out of town for the weekend and didn’t have a chance to do any fansub work.

Episode 12 acronym reference: FAP = Fuse Alarm Panel, FAC = Flight Augmentation Computer, DMR = Digital Microwave Radio, ECP = Encryption Control Protocol, AP = Armor Piercing.

About the batch torrent: Because most of the episodes require a v2 script, the batch torrent will be delayed while I make some modifications to the scripts and re-mux and re-upload them. I’ll try to have it done within the week.

I want to thank Nekomimi Fansubs staff for working with me on this project, especially loliki (TL), Alcyone (TLC), fnord (QC), and cryptw (raws), as well as everyone else who helped out along the way. It’s being able to do a series like Sora no Woto with a group like Nekomimi that makes all the time I put into this worthwhile. I also want to thank the “Anime no Chikara” program for backing Sora no Woto so it could be shared with the world. Finally, I’d like to thank all the fans and viewers who give Nekomimi their continued support, despite the fact that we are slower than average on our releases. I hope to see you all again next season! (I know most of this sounds sappy, but I truly am grateful.)

PS – Both the non-honorifics and with-honorifics versions are included, as well as German translations, so there are four subtitle tracks in total.

PPS -  And just like ep. 11, I recommend watching without German translations the first time.

Last episode, shit got real. This episode, it’s hitting the fan. Just don’t do what I did:

Show ▼

So a new character is introduced. Her name is Aisha, she’s a Roman, and she speaks German. Wait… I thought the Helvetian Army that wears the German uniforms should be speaking German… brain so confused. Apologies for the late release, but at least it’s not a week late like episode 10. :P

PS – There’s a lot of German spoken in this episode (which fnord translated for us), but there’s no indication that the original broadcast was translated for the Japanese viewers. So in addition to honorifics, this episode will add the option of viewing the German translations or not. Four subtitle tracks in total. The default track is without honorifics, without German.

PPS – I’d actually recommend watching this episode twice: first time without German, second time with. It’s more suspenseful that way, and the second viewing (with German), adds another layer to the story.

Shit’s gettin’ real, son. As if Filicia’s story didn’t make you feel bad enough, the heavy stuff is laid on pretty thick this episode. Apologies again for the late release, one of our guys was MIA for a while. Filesize went down this time, but not much (visually) happens in this episode either.

PS – As always, both the non-honorifics and with-honorifics versions are included.

And now, the much-anticipated fanservice episode! Actually, there really isn’t much fanservice, just a handful of panty-shots, including the one pictured above. On top of that, the mood isn’t meant for you to enjoy it either. Anyway, apologies again for the late release. You’ll also notice filesize spiked up this time. I don’t know why, but it’s likely the encoder changed some settings (that or the constant rain did it).

PS – As always, both the non-honorifics and with-honorifics versions are included.
