So here we are. This is what we do when we’re bored, we pick on LiLGh0st. To be honest, he’s not a stupid guy, we just like to make him look like it :D. Sometimes he makes it too easy.

Might as well post the status of some stuff I suppose. Sora no Woto 09 is at translation and Ookami 09 hasn’t aired yet. Our backup translator for Nyan Koi seems to have disappeared, so we need a backup backup translator. If anyone wants to help out (I think it’s only 3 episodes we have left), come find/bug someone who’s +a or +o in #nekosubs.

In this episode, Kanata has a staring contest with the rusty bucket. I’m enjoying the director’s use of multiple timelines and perspectives, it makes for good storytelling. Reminds me a little of Snatch (especially episode 6). Anyway, apologies again for the late release.

Filicia had such innocent eyes back then… Sorry for the late release, our encoder was stranded on a desert island and the rescue team just brought him back. Fortunately he had his laptop with him, so he encoded this while waiting for help. Hopefully he won’t get lost again. On a brighter note, episode 08 is moving along nicely.

At this point I was half-expecting them to bust out Smooth Criminal, but I digress. On the quality front, we’re leaving it alone for the time being, so expect filesizes to be in the 400 MB to 500 MB range. Anyway, sorry for the late release. It really doesn’t help that our staff is literally spread across the globe so our wake/sleep/life schedules are out of sync.

The three newbies go on a field trip mission this time. Apologies, but the filesize grew again this time. Since we encode using a constant quality setting, the more stuff that happens in the episode, the larger the file gets. There’s not much we can do about it besides dropping the quality (which isn’t a great idea). Feel free to leave your thoughts on this in our comments.
